Black Business Journal proudly announced the winners of its 2022 TOP Ten Black Technologists Award honorees. These trailblazers will be celebrated at a grand celebration in their honor in their honor Saturday, November 19, 2022 at J.W. Marriott, downtown Austin at 6:00pm.
Presented annually, the TOP 10 Black Technologists must be an engineer, scientist, or have a tech background, and operates at an executive level. They must also have a stellar reputation, be a resident or work in Central Texas and have a history of actively paving the way to success for others.
“Austin is one of the most vibrant technology hubs in the country and we want to continue to support and help build a robust, diverse ecosystem of STEM professionals,” said Black Business Journal Publisher, Anita C Roberts. “Each of our Top Ten Blacks in Tech honorees should be a household name. They are outstanding innovators who are focused on exploring what is imminent, possible and important in and around emerging technologies.”
Black Business Journal Top Ten Blacks in Tech honorees are cutting-edge technologists and forward-thinking financiers. They help to lead some of the world’s top corporations that are changing the game in advance technology. Each of the honorees have worked hard to push the envelope in innovation and in doing so, paved the way for others to follow.
“It is important to help young people who look like us, in our community. We know they can succeed in tech and STEM fields,“ said 2019/20 Technologist of the Year, Ed Ward. “Many people have helped me, so I feel an obligation to pay it forward and help others.” Ward says, “it’s the right thing to do. It is a business imperative as studies show that diverse teams deliver superior business results. So, it is a win-win situation.”
